Dance 4 Wellness Showcase
What a wonderful day it was on Saturday afternoon! It all started at 2:00 PM. We had pizza, chips, cookies, students, parents, school administrators, and wonderful dancing. There must have been 200 people at this showcase at Dance 4 Wellness. We had a lot of fun and everyone truly enjoyed themselves.
Students from four elementary schools performed for their parents and school administrators. One couple from River Oaks Academy, a brother and sister did a routine they learned in four days. It was terrific!
Isabella Kats and Geramy Lashchev came on next and showed us what it is like to be in a competition. They came in full dance costumes and danced five dances. They were outstanding! Please read last week’s blog that is an interview with both of these talented dancers to learn a little bit more about them.
Students and parents from each school came up to the microphone and gave short speeches to share their experiences and tell us what this dance program means to them. We also heard from the dance instructors who also shared some of their thoughts about the program and why they like the program so much.
Last but not least, the Fordney Foundation gave out dance participation medals to all the elementary school students who performed.
Congratulations and many thanks to everyone who helped put this special performance showcase together (student dancers, dance instructors, parents, and school administrators). We want to especially thank Dance 4 Wellness for hosting this very memorable event. It was a big success!
