If You Think You Can’t, Think Again

It is customary to make New Year resolutions at the beginning of each year. We hear people do it all the time. You may be one of those people who say it too. It’s not uncommon to hear people say, “this year, I’m turning over a new leaf” or   “I’m going to lose some weight,” exercise more, eat better and even get more sleep.” The list goes on and the possibilities are infinite. After all, it is easy to say, “I can change, or I can fix that or add/subtract this or that from my life.” The real question is, “how determined are you to not only say you are going to do something, but actually carry it out and accomplish your goals?”

Often times, we stand in our own way. We make excuses or put off tasks when we should be addressing them now and diving in head first until we feel like we are accomplishing something.  It is amazing how much we believe others when they say, “you’ll never do this or that” or “you can’t do that” for whatever reason.  Don’t believe them.  Also, many people procrastinate and say,” it can wait until tomorrow.” Can it? If you are looking to become a professional dancer, I say, “You can’t wait.” Most people in our country know we are blessed to live in America. We can literally do almost anything we put our heart’s desire to. So, what’s stopping you?

As dancers, it may seem like our obstacles are huge. But really, if you think about it, isn’t it exactly what we WANT to be doing. On that count, our challenges are still there but we can get through them happily, knowing it is exactly the path we want to be on. And if you ever think you are having a bad day, and you just can’t do something, or you’re bothered by someone or something, perhaps a little attitude adjustment may be in order. You never know, reversing your patterns could end up being the best thing that ever happened to you. Just from your own thinking you can move mountains, so to speak!

So if you’re ever feeling down or a little blue about how things are going, boy do I have a video for you to see! Your only limits are what you set upon yourself. And after seeing this video, it may inspire you to feel happy and grateful you are who you are and that you can really do anything!

Thought Of The Week:

Life is about more than what you have. It’s really about what you give!
