Speed Limits

There are no speed limits when you’re traveling at the rate of your own beliefs! Could be that I just said something that may go over your heads completely. On the other hand, if it sounds kind of interesting, fasten your seat belts and take a ride with me.

If you’ve got gusto, you’ve got power. If you possess skills, you have a way to go forward and achieve success. If you are a dancer, than you can use your gusto, apply your skills and you just might be headed in the right direction. Doing what you love to do and being acknowledged for it, is simply life at its best. Extreme passion can lead to genuine happiness because we are doing what we love to do and attaining our goals at the same time. Fulfilling our dreams is what it’s all about on any level.

There may not be any speed limits in the creative process, but time is an interesting factor in the equation of dance. Time can work with you beautifully or become a double-edge sword. Obviously, the younger you are and the more eager you are to succeed in your dance goals, the easier it is to have longevity in your career. If you are focused, organized and hardworking, the opportunities are limitless for a young dancer who only gets better and better with time. However, if you are saying things like, “well I can dance pretty well, I practice all the time but I just can’t seem to fit it into my schedule anymore with school and going out with my friends.” “It’s just too much.” In this case, it sounds like time is working against you? If you feel this way, you may want to self-examine your current ambitions. Being clear with your intentions is an important factor in success. People with dancing in their blood do not say they have no time to dance. They are looking forward to integrating dance into their lives even more then it already is. They crave bigger, better and more of it! There is one other way that time may get away from us. Let’s say you are a singer, dancer and actor (or studying to be one). It is very difficult to maintain excellence in all these areas at once. If you spread yourself too thin, you may lose sight of your true goals and miss opportunities as well as not be in the right place at the right time. It is something to think about.

This may be a good time to analyze your goals. Of course in life and dance, there will always be challenges and speed bumps. But if your will is strong and destiny calls out, your alliance with your skills can always see you through to the next plateau. There are no limitations when it comes to your imagination either. The infinite power of your brain alone can guide you to create new horizons for yourself. Combined with a flair for adventure and a bit of intuition, a dancer can propel his or her career into the future based on a true commitment to his or her sheer love of dance now! Isn’t that amazing. By enjoying what you are doing and creating space for it to happen, the dimension of fulfillment starts growing into bliss because of your ability to know who you are and what you want. By the way, knowing what you want in life is half the battle. How can you get what you want, if you don’t know what you want?

Check your destiny with your passion. Do they cross paths? Having wisdom and being enlightened don’t usually show up unannounced. It usually takes really knowing ourselves well and being honest about who we are to acquire a true sense of self. It takes order and balance through experience to achieve great things. And the great news for you my dancers is, “you are masters of your own destinies and you can dance it as you see fit.”
