This one’s for all you dancers and would-be dancers too. I know we all have a lot to do in our lives. We have schedules, school, work, to-do lists and commitments galore. There are people we depend on and people who depend upon us. Sometimes when summer ends, things that are considered “just for fun” get thrown to the side. As autumn and winter approach, people tend to get down to business and get serious about what must get done.
Now, I’m mainly talking to you dancers out there, but the concept I’m about to share with you, can easily apply to any situation you have an interest in. I’ve got a proposal for you. What if you could take what you love (dance) and make it a priority! Now wouldn’t that be fun. It’s actually more than fun, it can improve the quality of the rest of your life too. And if you’re a would-be dancer, this is just the nudge you need to get yourself out there. It makes so much sense. Why not take things you already love to do and make them your focus. It’s all in your outlook!
That being said, “this one’s for you…you know who you are.” You are the people who are
crazy about dance. Let me encourage you to take your hobby and possibly make it a priority. If dance brings you joy, then see what happens by incorporating it into your life on a full time basis. Here’s the idea, take the thing you love to do and make it the thing you want to do then have to do – watch what grows and comes out of doing just that! What’s the worst thing that can happen, you get the best work out you can possibly get, and it hardly feels like work! Plus you get to make a whole lot of new friends along the way. Not a bad deal.
On the positive side, following your bliss can lead to winners in competitions. And just maybe, I’ll be seeing you around those dance competitions we so proudly represent.
