You Dreamers You

Continue to dream BIG going forward. It’s a new year and a new time! Dreams are our escape into infinity that we turn into reality. And infinity makes room for great things to come our way, that are still undreamed. I don’t know about you, but that part of life (the unknown) is exciting to me. Or as Marilyn Fordney, our founder, recently said to me, “We can choose to enter the New Year dancing to a positive note. A nice foot to start on.” Good one Marilyn, couldn’t agree more. For those of us who love the arts, especially our beloved ballroom dancing and dancesport, we’ve seen many of our friends reach new heights in the last year. We are thrilled when this happens and we want to congratulate you. We look forward to seeing many more of you getting involved in competitions.

Fordney Foundation is proud to be able to help our young, talented and deserving dancers go forward in their careers. It is our pleasure to be here for you every step of the way. Your victory is our victory and we shine because of you. To any of you out there who wish to dance and need a little help getting started or have questions, we are here to answer you in any way we can. Perhaps you know someone who would love the opportunity to be involved in ballroom dance, please let them know we are here! The more people that support you as dancers, the more awareness you bring to our community that the need for culture and art is as necessary as math and spelling. Dancing automatically brings hope, peace and good will. The Fordney Foundation is a non-profit organization and we are happy to know people who wish to give back to society in a meaningful way through its children. Contributing to our cause in helping young people be able to dance in this day and age is a positive reinforcement for everyone involved. We love what we do and do what we love. Come join us and be part of this enriching, rewarding experience. Twice yearly, we sponsor our Dancing With Our Local Schools event! One of these events is coming up very soon! Stay with us, and I will be posting a date shortly.

We also love to hear from you, whether you are a mother, a student or a happy participant in one of the competitions we represent. Recently we heard from Tyler Li, aged 12 and his partner, Angelica Lowe, age 10. They participated in the Ohio Star Ball – 2014 Standard – Junior Division and they were among the top 10 to win cash awards!  They sent a card to Marilyn Fordney, letting her know how happy and thankful they were to have had the opportunity to compete in this very prestigious event. Thank you Angelica and Tyler for writing to us.

As this year unfolds, may you all be doing things that warm your heart and bring peace to our earth.

Happy New Year and wishes for a year of good health from all of us at the Fordney Foundation,

Thought Of The Week:

Don’t only practice your art, but force your way into its secrets; art deserves that, for it and knowledge can raise you to the Divine.  – Ludwig van Beethoven
