Marilyn Fordney, Director of Fordney Foundation was invited to the Emerald Ball by organizers Wayne Eng and his wife, Donna.

The preteen, teen, junior and youth dance competition has grown each year

so that it takes 2 days, 2 ballrooms, and even a divided ballroom dance floor

so that two sets of judges are judging 2 groups at the same time. In

addition, giving out awards had to be streamlined to keep the award time

down to minimum time. It took a large efficient and well-trained staff to

handle the workload. Fordney Foundation Scholarship rounds were

unbelievable. As the dancers approached and made their appearance on the

ballroom floor, one could feel the surge of energy and fighting spirit to be

the best. The high level and skill of these young dancers is incredible. Here

are photo images of the winners. CONGRATULATIONS to all the winners

for a job well done. We look forward to seeing all of you in future ballroom

dance competitions across the USA.

In addition, Marilyn Fordney has always wanted to meet Derek Hough of

Dancing With The Stars TV fame and he happened to sit at her table during

the dance competitions. She feels he is the Fred Astaire of today. They had a

nice visit. He was so gracious. Here is a candid photo that was taken of them

talking together at the Emerald Ball.
